By Jared Bodnar, TOCA President
We’re always urging our clients to plan early and often. Strategic plans complete with measurable objectives, strategies and tactics are the best way to get a company where it needs to go in terms of its branding and marketing.
The same is true for associations, which is why I’m so thrilled that TOCA is doing it right. We have assembled an excellent group of TOCA members who will make up committees to develop and execute the new strategic plan for our great organization.
Each committee will be responsible for a specific
aspect
of TOCA’s future direction. Here are a few quick
descriptions
of these committees:
- Membership (recruitment of new members and retention
and re-engagement of current members)
- Corporate Sponsorships (recruitment of new sponsors,
retention and communication)
- Professional Development (annual meeting, contest,
ongoing workshops and other training activities)
- Communication and Branding (value proposition and messaging,
identity, website, e-newsletter, social media, increasing frequency/quality/targeting of communication messages)
I am confident that our committees will come up with some great objectives, strategies and creative ideas to help TOCA sustain itself in these trying economic times and prosper in the future. We’ll definitely keep the members abreast of the progress of these committees and the strategic plan in general. If you have any specific input or ideas about any of these topics, please let me know.
Oh, and don’t forget to make plans to attend the TOCA breakfast at the GIE+EXPO in Louisville, which will be held October 30th at 7:30 a.m. Details on location, etc., will be emailed to all soon. Thanks again to Bayer Environmental Science for sponsoring the breakfast.
Happy planning!
