Tena earned a degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from Drake University. As a student, she was involved with a number of philanthropies including The Heart Connection, The Blood Center of Iowa and Court Appointed Special Advocates.
Her professional background includes marketing and communications work for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa and The Iowa Department of Natural Resources.
In her spare time, Tena is a mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters. She also enjoys playing with her puppy, spending time with friends and family, art, cooking, working out and telling jokes.
